Database of the Week:
The History Resource Center, U.S. and World

The History Resource Center provides students with a timeline of world history beginning at 3 million years B.C. and a timeline of U.S. history beginning in pre-colonial times. Students will find articles from 110 history journals by using subjects, keywords, personal names, or combined search terms within a date range. Results will also include entries from 30 reference titles and 4,000 historical primary documents, as well as images, maps and charts.

To use the History Resource Center, go to the library Web page at and select “Databases by Subject.”

Find bibliographies and additional resources to help you understand more about a specific author. You can also use the Literary-Historical timeline to understand the larger context of a book’s setting.
