Today Show: Libraries Lend a Hand in Tough Times

This morning the Today Show ran a segment on the important role libraries play during the recession, using data and resources provided by the ALA and public libraries:

The ALA Public Information Office worked with the Today Show on this segment and has followed up to encourage NBC affiliates to take up the story locally.

Also, we have set up a new section at the RV campus library for Career & Job Seeking Materials, located to the rear of the Reference Desk near the Current Topics section.

That was indeed a great segment! We started a library-based Career Center here at Livermore Public Library and will be presenting a “How to” presentation at both the American Library Association and the California Library Association!
